Vaishno Devi is perhaps one of the most famous pilgrim centers in the world. Vaishno Devi Yatra

To reach the main shrine of this divine shrine, one needs to take a holy trek which is about 13 km long. It starts from Katra. Devotees can be seen walking as well as taking a pony ride to reach the top. Helicopter ride is also available from Katra to Sanjhichatt from where the main shrine is at a convenient distance of 2.5 kilometers.

This trek is a beautiful experience. You can see streams of devotees moving forward and chanting ‘Jai Mata Di’. Views along the trek route are astonishing and take away all your tiredness. As you reach the main shrine, a feeling of accomplishment and positivity fills you.

Ardh Kuwari Cave

Before reaching the main shrine, you will visit the Ardh Kuwari Cave located halfway to the main shrine. Devotees always pay a visit to this holy cave where one needs to crawl on the knees to enter. Main Shrine

As you reach the main shrine, you need to keep all your belongings in lockers provided. Mobile phones and other gadgets are not allowed inside the temple premises. Do not miss a chance to experience the famous aarti held at the Bhawan every day before sunrise and after sunset.

Bhairavnath Temple

This temple is dedicated to Bhairav Nath and is just 2 kilometers walk up from the main shrine. It is said that the yatra of Mata Vaishno is not complete unless you visit this temple. Views of surroundings from this temple are astonishing and weather here is heart pleasing.Get Tour Quotes

When to Visit

Even though the shrine remains open throughout the year, Navratras are the peak season to visit here. Months between March and October are ideal to visit here due to perfect weather conditions. Winter months are extremely cold here with thick snowfall.
